Axel Larsen
A funeral was held today for Axel W. Larsen of San Rafael.
Larsen, 79, died Tuesday in a local hospital.
He was born in Denmark and came to the United States in 1917. He was a San Francisco fireman for 35 years. He was captain of the city’s fire boat and of a fishing vessel. He moved to Marin 11 years ago. He was a member of the Danish Lodge Dania 2.
He is survived by his wife, Ane Katherine Larsen of San Rafael; a daughter, Corinne Hunter of Novato; a son, Richard Larsen of Millbrae; and four grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial contributions to a favorite charity.
