Prominent Ross Resident Dead
Thomas Pollard Sr., president of the Pollard Steam Ship and Lumber Company, died at his home in Ross last Sunday night. He was 84 years old.
The deceased was one of the prominent residents of Marin county for many years, and a leading factor in the mercantile and shipping circles of San Francisco. His wife, Mrs. Anna Pollard, preceded him in death by two or three years.
The deceased is survived by four children, Thomas, Jr., A. W. and A. J. Pollard, and Mrs. F. J. Hund. W. S. Pollard, a son, passed away some time ago.
The funeral was held Wednesday, with services at St. Anselm’s church, and the celebration of a requiem high mass. The burial and funeral arrangements were under the direction of J. Ray Keaton of the F. E. Sawyer Company.
