Fractured Skull Kills Aged Man
Alfred J. Marsh, employed at Fort Barry and living in Mill Valley, died Monday at the Letterman Hospital, Presidio, as a result of a fall Saturday night near his home when he sustained a fracture of the skull. He was 66 years of age.
Marsh was seen Saturday evening by a neighbor walking along a trail near where he was found unconscious the next morning. Under Sheriff Frank Sherman was called and investigated the matter, and from his examination of the ground and questioning of neighbors, he came to the conclusion that the old man had fallen a distance of three or four feet, striking his head on a stump. He did not regain consciousness before death.
Marsh leaves a son, Leo Marsh who is a member of the San Francisco Police Department. An inquest was held by the Coroner of San Francisco.
