EDWARD W. KAENEL SR.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Aldersgate Methodist Church in San Rafael for Edward W. Kaenel Sr., a native of San Rafael and lifelong Marin resident.
Mr. Kaenel of Greenbrae died Sunday at St. Mary’s Hospital in Reno after a brief illness. He had been stricken while playing golf with friends on a visit to Reno.
He worked in the automobile sales and service business, most recently with Don Collins Buick in San Rafael.
He was born in San Rafael and had also lived in San Anselmo before moving to Greenbrae.
He was a member of the San Rafael Elks Lodge, Native Sons of the Golden West and Marin Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid golfer.
Mr. Kaenel is survived by his wife, Edith; two daughters, Kathleen Devlin of San Rafael and Laura Lee Sanford of Penngrove; a son, Edward W. Kaenel Jr. of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.
The family prefers memorial contributions to the Elks National Foundation in care of San Rafael Lodge 1108, P.O. Box 808, San Rafael 94915.

A Death Notice in the same paper says that he was the grandfather of Jennifer and Matthew Sanford.
