Jerry Cooper
A Resident of Fairfax
Passed away from cancer August 7, 2002 at his Fairfax home. Jerry was the devoted husband of Laura Cooper for 35 years; proud father of Julie and husband Sean Ryan; loving stepfather of Linda Kaulukukui, Larry Salvisberg, and Bruce Salvisberg; (all of Marin County), beloved grandfather of Shannan Salvisberg (of Petaluma); and younger brother to Doyle Heath (of North Carolina). He was preceded in death by brother Robert Cooper and parents Fred and Marie Cooper. Jerry was born in Nebraska, raised in Colorado, and became a Marin County resident in 1963. He was a retired employee of Fairfax Lumber, where he enjoyed serving customers for twelve years. Jerry was a member of the Independent Order of Foresters and the Marin Rod and Gun Club. Throughout his life, he was an avid animal-lover and Denver Bronco fan. He enjoyed listening to music and camping. Jerry's family would like to thank Hospice of Marin, Carol Vernal, and Sharon Kelly for making his final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible. In lieu of flowers, Jerry and family would like donations to be sent to San Rafael's Guide Dogs for the Blind or Second Chance Rescue (P.O. Box 2958 San Rafael Ca 94912). Jerry's family would also like to invite anyone whose lives he touched to attend a Memorial potluck picnic at Peri Park in Fairfax on Saturday August 24th at 12:00 noon.
