Charles E. Gavigan
San Rafael resident
Charles E. Gavigan died of heart failure yesterday at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae. He was 88.
Mr. Gavigan was born and raised in San Francisco. In 1930, he graduated from St. Mary’s College in Moraga, where he played football. He lived in San Rafael for the past 28 years.
He worked for Railway Express as a truck driver for 30 years before retiring in 1967. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Marin Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle E. Gavigan of San Rafael, and a nephew.
At his request, there will be no services.
