Mrs. Margaret Fristrom Dies At S.A. Home

A San Anselmo woman who had been married to her husband for 65 years until his death two years ago died early yesterday at the home of a daughter.

She was Mrs. Margaret Fristrom, 83, widow of t he late Edward Fristrom. Mrs. Fristrom died after an illness of about five months duration.

A native of Australia, she and her husband came to the United States in 1915 and settled at Carmel where her husband, former master at an art school in Sydney, devoted his life to painting. He exhibited in many museums, including the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in San Francisco.

They moved to Marin county in the early 1930s, where Mrs. Fristrom was an active communicant of St. Anselm’s Catholic parish. Her husband died two years ago shortly after they celebrated their 65th anniversary.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Oliva Rowland, wife of P. J. Rowland, a deputy Marin county assessor; and a son, Leonard Fristrom, Modesto musician and concertmaster of the Modesto Symphony orchestra. Other survivors include a granddaughter, Mrs. Margaret Callahan, and a grandson, Phil Rowland.

Funeral will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. from Keaton’s mortuary with Requiem Mass at St. Anselm’s church at 9:30. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet cemetery.
