Death of L. Filippini
Louis Filippini, a prominent citizen of Marin county, died last Friday in a San Francisco hospital. The fatal disease was a species of mortification that attacked one hand and was at first lightly considered. The ailment, however, developed rapidly and when he sought medical treatment at the hospital it was found necessary to amputate the sufferer's arm. He never rallied from the ensuing operation, in fact died under it. The doctors, however, claim that no other treatment was possible.
Mr. Filippini was one of the early Swiss settlers of Marin county. He was a man of thrift, industry and force and soon accumulated much valuable property. In business he was universally respected and in all the relations of life leaves behind him an untarnished name. The funeral took place at Petaluma last Sunday and was attended by many friends.
