Noted Artist Dies At San Anselmo Home

Claes Edward Fristrom, 86, portrait and landscape artist, died at his home, 869 San Anselmo avenue, San Anselmo, yesterday.

Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lutheran Trinity church, San Rafael. Friends may call at the mortuary of Dierks and Co., 901 Divisidero street, San Francisco.

Fristrom, a native of Sweden, had lived off and on in Marin county for 33 years and had lived here permanently during the past 12 years.

He taught in New Zealand before coming to this country, and once was very active in art circles at Carmel. Exhibitions of his works have been held in San Francisco where he was a member of art clubs.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. Margaret Fristrom; a daughter, Mrs. Olivia Rowland; a son, Leonard Fristrom; a grandson, Phil E. Rowland, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Margaret Callahan, all of San Francisco.
