Louise B. Greenberg; Greenbrae civic leader
Louise B. Greenberg, 83, of Greenbrae, who had been active in civic and philanthropic organizations in San Francisco, died Wednesday at a local convalescent hospital after a brief illness.
She was the widow of Stuart N. Greenberg, owner of M. Greenberg and Sons, manufacturers of fire hydrants, valves and fittings.
Mrs. Greenberg was past president of Mount Zion Hospital Women’s Auxiliary and belonged to the Philomath Club and the Emmanuel Sisterhood.
She was a member of the San Francisco Women’s Athletic Club, Opera and Symphony societies and the El Paso Historical Society.
Mrs. Greenberg had been active with the American Red Cross during World War I and World War II.
She had been a resident of Greenbrae for about 15 months, and previously had lived in San Francisco. She was a native of El Paso, Texas.
Surviving are a son, Stuart T. Greenberg of Greenbrae, and two grandchildren.
There will be no funeral service at her request. The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Fund or the American Cancer Society.
