Rev. Loverd L. Howard
The funeral for the Rev. Loverd L. Howard of Marin City will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the First Missionary Baptist Church of Marin City.
He died Saturday after a brief illness. He had been under treatment for a heart condition.
Rev. Howard, born in Alabama, moved to California and to Marin City in 1957 and was self-employed as a vendor. He became an ordained minister 10 years ago.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline, of the home; five daughters, Patricia A. Morganna and Nietta Howard of Marin City, Pamela C. Howard of Larkspur and Marie Howard of Oakland; six sons, Loverd L. Howard Jr. of Texas, Rafael W., Kenneth B. and Marcenia D. Howard of Marin City, Keith of Larkspur and Donald Howard of San Rafael; three brothers, Henry and Claxton Howard of Toledo, Ohio and Mitchell Howard of Evergreen, Fla.; two sisters, Luretha Ferguson of Pensacola, Fla., and Geraldine Williams of Toledo, and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Russell and Gooch funeral chapel from 9 a.m. Thursday to noon Friday. Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemetery, San Rafael.
