GILROY, Harold Anthony, Jr. - Age 72. Harold Gilroy Jr., a California Rumsen Indian, passed away peacefully on Nov. 14, 2002 at Kaiser Hospital in San Rafael after a brief illness. Loving husband of "Butch" Gilroy; devoted father of Scott Gilroy and his wife Lotus of Santa Rosa, Casey Gilroy of San Francisco, Whitedeer and his wife Katja of Petaluma and the late Pat and Mark Gilroy; dearly loved grandfather of Amber Marie Rose; caring brother of Viola O 'Malley and her husband William, brother-in-law of Mabel and John Caito, Dora and Dick Conley, Henry and Gloria Stornetta. Leaving behind many nephews, nieces and cousins. Born in San Francisco to Harold and Viola Gilroy. After graduation from Balboa High School he enlisted in the Coast Guard for 3 1/2 years and was stationed in Point Arena where he met and married his wife, Carmel "Butch" Stornetta. On May 24, 2002, they celebrated their 50th anniversary. They lived in San Francisco where he was a fireman for 25 years. They moved to Petaluma in 1969 and he and his sons became involved with Pop Warner, CYO Basketball, National Little League and high school sports. Hal never missed a game. He coached the "3 time Senior League Champion Berton's in the 70's" with good friend Frank Kenny. Hal was an avid hunter and enjoyed all the sport games on TV. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty Street, Petaluma, CA at 11:00 A.M. A Visitation will be at the mortuary on Monday, November 18 from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made to American Legion Baseball c/o Rod Moore, Atty., 17 Keller St., Petaluma, CA. 94952. Arrangements made by Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, Magnolia Ave. & Keokuk St., Petaluma.
