Joseph Louis Giomi
A Resident of San Rafael

Joseph lost his battle with cancer March 30, 2002 at the age of 78. A life time Bay Area resident, Joseph was born October 3, 1923 in San Francisco and moved to San Rafael at the age of 3. He was raised on a chicken ranch until he was drafted into the army aircorp in 1943, where he served in the South Pacific. Shortly after being discharged from the Army he met and married his beloved Miriam Rose who preceded him in death. Together Joseph and Miriam raised a family of four children who all survive him. Ron Giomi of San Jose; Ken (Alba) Giomi of Sebastopol; Deanna Giomi of Petaluma and Julie (Greg) Brown of Jacksonville, Oregon. He was the beloved Pa of twelve grandchildren; Christian, Jerrod, Mario, Heather, Ryan, Vincent, Kathryn, Angelina, Dario, Treg, Jarl, Kelsey and three great grandchildren; Christopher, Johnny and Genevieve-Miriam. He is also survived by his sisters Carolina Cretti, Ellen Raffi and brother-in-law Louis. He was brother-in-law to Gladys and Fred Bien and beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Raphael's Church and a former member of the Italian-Catholic Federation. He was well liked by those lives he touched and will definitely be missed. P.S. He made a hell of a crab cioppino! Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Keaton Mortuary on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. A Rosary will be held Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at Mission San Rafael at 7:00 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday April 4, 2002 at St. Raphael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at Valley Memorial Park in Novato. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Avenue, Corte Madera, CA 94925.
