MARY LAURENCE
Mary Sage Laurence of Mill Valley, 91-year-old retired school teacher, died Saturday in a local convalescent home after a short illness.
Mrs. Laurence was born in Delavan, Wis., and lived in Wisconsin until moving to Marin County 43 years ago. She also taught school in Wisconsin.
In Marin County she participated in activities of the Mill Valley Outdoor Art club, the Triple C of the Mill Valley Community Church and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
A son and daughter preceded her in death. Mrs. Laurence is survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A silent memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Russell and Gooch Funeral Chapel in Mill Valley.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: she was the mother of the late A. A. Laurence and of Pamelia Best, and mother-in-law of Beth C. Laurence and John Best of Wisconsin. She was the grandmother of Mary Beth Crenna of San Francisco, Richard Laurence of Pleasant Hill, Peter Laurence of Colton, Pamelia Best, Mary Genevieve Newhauser and Bruce Best, all of Wisconsin.
