YOUNGER, Joseph M. -- Passed away February 11, 2001 in Santa Rosa, CA. He was born in San Francisco, July 25, 1922. He was a descendent of four pioneering families in California. He grew up in Mill Valley, attended the schools, grammar school through Tamalpais High School. He graduated from Stanford University Engineering School in 1952.

He was in the U.S. Army Corps, and the Air Force from 1941 to 1948, as a pilot of a B-24, in the 451st Bomb Group. Was shot down in Northern Italy, and was a prisoner of war for 13 months. He worked with Douglas Aircraft Co. and Lockheed Missiles and Space Program. He owned a business in Palo Alto. Retired in 1991 and moved to Bodega Bay in 1992.

He is survived by his wife Faye of 58 years; two sons, Joseph, Jr., Rob and his wife Melissa; three grandsons, Kevin, Connor and Robert Henry; and a sister, Sally Younger of San Mateo.

A church service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2001 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 500 Robinson Road, Sebastopol, CA. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2001 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Bodega Bay Yacht Club. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Arrangerments under the direction of Parent-Sorensen Mortuary, Sebastopol.
