Chester B. Miles
Chester B. Miles of Novato, a retired engineer, died Thursday at Novato Community Hospital after an illness. He was 71.
He was born in Ridgeway, Colo. and graduated from the University of Colorado.
Miles had been a designer of hydroelectric plants and worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, Southern Services Corp. and the Bechtel Corp. of San Francisco.
He also lived in Alabama and Texas before moving to Marin in 1967. The family lived in Tiburon before moving to Novato 12 years ago.
Miles was a member of the United Methodist Church of Novato.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Miles of Novato; a son, the Rev. Don Miles of Glendale, N.Y.; a daughter, Nancy Coston of Marietta, Ga.; six grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church of Novato.
The family prefers that contributions be made to the Lung Association of the Redwood Empire, P. O. Box 1482, Santa Rosa, 95402, or the memorial fund of the United Methodist Church of Novato.
