Heart Disease Takes Mill Valley Man
George W. Collins, one of Mill Valley’s prominent citizens and well known in San Francisco business and political circles, passed away at his Mill Valley home last Thursday from an attack of heart failure.
He was ill but a short time. The funeral was held Saturday morning at his late home and the interment took place in Olivet cemetery, San Francisco.
Collins was a member of the Masonic Lodge and for years had been the head of the Redmen on the Pacific coast. He was a member also of Stanford parlor of the Native Sons of the Golden West. A widow and two sons, George W. Jr., and Wallace Collins survive him.
Collins was a candidate at the last county election for the office of County Clerk. He had served as a member of the board of supervisors of San Francisco.
