JAMES HAZEN
James Alex Hazen, 61, of 1424 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard, San Anselmo, died at his home Saturday afternoon after collapsing in front of the home of a neighbor at 1416 Sir Francis Drake Boulevard.
Hazen was helped to his home and taken to bed. The San Anselmo Fire Department was called for resuscitator aid until Dr. Earl Wynn pronounced Hazen dead.
Coroner Frank J. Keaton said death resulted from natural causes, but that toxology and pathology tests will be conducted to determine the exact cause.
Hazen was a weighmaster for Basalt Rock Co. at McNear's Point for the past five years. A native of Russia, he was a naturalized citizen and had lived in Marin County for 11 years and California for 55 years.
Surviving are his wife, Ann, of San Anselmo; a daughter, Mrs. Marie Jane Telegin of San Rafael; a son, James Walter Hazen of Novato; his mother, Mrs. Mary Hazen of San Francisco; two sisters, Mrs. Nora Stockwell of Larkspur and Mrs. Emily Jericoff of San Francisco; two brothers, Frank Hazen of Los Angeles and Walter Hazen of Long Beach, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Daphne San Francisco Funeral Service, San Francisco. Evening services will be at 7 p.m. today and tomorrow. Burial will be in Russian Cemetery, Colma.
