Marinite’s Mother Dies in Oakland
Mrs. Ethel R. Blackburn of Oakland, who has visited here frequently with her daughter, Mrs. Katherine (Lewis A.) Clapp of Kentfield, died today after a heart attack. Although she had been under physician’s care for some time because of a heart ailment, she became critically ill only two days ago.
Mrs. Blackburn, who has a son, Lowell Blackburn of San Marino, is also survived by three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blackburn had lived in Oakland since 1897 when she arrived as a bride with her husband, the late George Blackburn. She was a 40-year member of the Lakeview Women’s Club of Oakland.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Albert Brown Mortuary in Oakland.
