Strawberry Resident Drops Dead
Mrs. Helen O'Neill, 46, of Strawberry, a resident of Marin County since childhood, dropped dead last night at an Alto restaurant.
Mrs. O'Neill, wife of John M. O'Neill, a doorman at Hotel Mark Hopkins in San Francisco, apparently suffered a heart seizure while in the women's rest room of the Ranch Wagon restaurant. She was found prostrate on the floor by a customer a few minutes after she left the table where she and her husband were eating dinner.
Her husband used mouth-to-mouth artificial respiration in a vain effort to revive her. County Coroner Frank J. Keaton said today an autopsy will be performed.
Mrs. O'Neill lived in Marin County for 40 years and had attended San Anselmo schools. She and her husband and their three children, Thomas, 14, John Jr., 10, and Frances, 16, resided at 256 Ricardo drive, Strawberry.
She is also survived by a brother, William Ducey of Ukiah. Her mother and her father, Thomas and Mary Ducey, both died only a few months ago. They had lived at the O'Neill residence.
She was a member of the Mill Valley Parent-Teacher Assn. and the Loretta International. She was a native of San Francisco.
Requiem Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Hilary's Catholic Church, Tiburon, with the funeral cortege forming at 9:30 a.m. at Keaton's mortuary, San Rafael. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tomorrow at Keaton's chapel. Interment will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
