Two Old Pioneers Die

During the last two weeks two old pioneers have passed from this life to the Great Beyond. The first was Jerry Driscoll, who has lived around Novato and Nicasio for the last 40 to 45 years. Not much is known of his early life. It is believed by those who know him that he is over eighty years of age.

Two days later, on Nov. 5th, Manuel Quadros, who is credited with being 90 years old, passed away at Alto where he has lived for many years. He came to California in the year 1840. He was a very interesting old man to talk to, knowing all about California life in its infancy. He was not married and little is known of his early life or his parents.

The two old men are lying side by side in Eden’s undertaking parlors.
