Former Marinite Roy Marshall Dies

Roy Marshall, a former San Rafael resident, died at a Sebastopol hospital this week after three months illness, it was learned here today. He was 75,

He was owner-operator of the Marshall Apple Orchard near Sebastopol for the past 20 years. He grew up in San Rafael and later worked at the San Rafael Post Office.

His father, Rev. William Marshall, was minister of the Methodist Church here for many years before his death.

Roy Marshall was a member of Company D of the National Guard as a young man and served as captain for four years. He was member of the California State Rifle Team and in 1913 participated in the National Rifle Championships at Boston, Mass.

Survivors are his wife, Gay Marshall, who was formerly Gay Eastman of San Anselmo; two sons, Robert and William Marshall, and three grandchildren, all of Sebastopol; and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Winkler of Sebastopol and Mrs. Eleanor Valiant of Redwood City.
