Byron C. McHirron Dies At 73
Byron C. McHirron, 73, of San Rafael, a retired engineer for the Pacific Gas and Electric Co., died yesterday apparently of a heart attack, after collapsing outside a San Rafael delicatessen.
McHirron, who lived at 183 Greenfield Avenue, collapsed near the Speedee 7-Eleven Food Store on B Street about 10:45 a.m. and was taken to Marin General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to Asst. County Coroner Eugene R. Fontaine.
McHirron was born in Pender, Neb., and lived in Marin County 46 years. He retired from PG&E in 1962.
McHirron, a veteran of World War I, was a member of Marin Lodge 191, Free and Accepted Masons, and was a past high priest of Marin Chapter 102 of the Royal Arch Masons.
Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Charles Weigand of Albany and Mrs. J. W. Beachy of Dallas, Tex.
Funeral arrangements are being made at Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper adds information: Byron Charles McHirron was an alumnus of the University of Nebraska and a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Survived by many nieces and nephews.
