ROBERT ‘BOB’ JOHNSTON

A funeral for Robert “Bob” Johnston, a longtime Larkspur resident, will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Anderson’s funeral parlor, Valencia and 25th streets, San Francisco.

Mr. Johnston died Thursday, July 2, 1987, at his home after a long illness. He was 79.

He was born in San Francisco and moved to Larkspur in 1961.

Mr. Johnston worked as a warehouseman and a carpenter. He was a member of the California Teamsters Warehousemen’s Union, local No. 860 of San Francisco.

He was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Johnston is survived by his wife, Alice Johnston of Larkspur; a daughter, Dianne Nowak of Millbrae; a son, Bob Johnston of Greenbrae; and five grandchildren.

Burial will be at Olivet Memorial Park in Colma.

The family has asked that memorial donations be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Fund or Hospice of Marin.
