MESSINA, Lucien John -- Age 88 years passed away peacefully at his Petaluma residence on March 4, 2002 surrounded by his family and dear friends. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Felicia Messina; loving father of Maria Messina, and Stephanie Rugani and her husband Walter all of Novato, CA; adored grandfather of Deanne Locke and her husband Charles, Shana Rugani, Dan Rugani and Marta Messina; brother of the late Mary Scafani, Salvatore "Tutti", Joseph, Peter and Vincent Messina; uncle and cousin to many. A native of San Francisco, John was in the seafood business for over 60 years. In 1934 he married Felicia Giarritta and shared his love of music, singing and dancing with his family. They moved to Petaluma in 1974 and retired in 1978. He was also a member of the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Liturgy on Saturday, March 9, 2002 at 10:30 A.M. at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, Magnolia Ave. and Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. The family prefers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 400 N. McDowell Blvd., Petaluma, CA 94954.
