Mrs. Aimee O. Jones Dies At 84

Mrs. Aimee O. Jones, 84, mother-in-law of San Rafael Postmaster Warren H. Williams, died at 1:35 a.m. today at Marin General Hospital of injuries received in a fall at a Ross home.

Assistant Coroner William Bradley said Mrs. Jones, who lived with her daughter and son-in-law at 216 D Street, San Rafael, was helping Mrs. Henry W. Calvin during a party at the Calvin home on Madrone Avenue last night.

Mrs. Calvin said she noticed about 9:30 p.m. that the kitchen was cleaned up and Mrs. Jones was gone, and so thought no more about it.

At 11 p.m. when the guests were leaving, however, she saw that Mrs. Jones’ car was still parked in front of the house. Her husband went to the rear of the house and found Mrs. Jones lying unconscious at the foot of a flight of six steps.

Mrs. Jones was admitted to the hospital at 11:34 p.m.

Bradley said death was attributed in a preliminary autopsy to “multiple traumatic injuries.” He said she probably died from a skull fracture and brain damage, but further examination is pending.

Mrs. Jones had lived with the Williamses for 20 years, since the death of her husband, who was a San Quentin Prison guard.

She was born in Illinois, and was a resident of California and Marin for 34 years.

Other survivors are a son, Beau C. Jones, two sisters, Mrs. Velma Lawson and Mrs. Harold Duffy, all of San Rafael; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Harry M. Williams Mortuary in San Rafael.

-----
A Death Notice in the same paper adds that she was the widow of Lewis E. Jones, and grandmother of Mrs. Sandra J. Ascher and Mrs. Beaudine Dallara of San Rafael.
