MARIA SCHIRADO
Maria Antoinette Schirado, 71, of San Rafael, died of a heart attack Friday in Skagway, Alaska, while on a vacation trip with her husband, Anton Schirado.
Mrs. Schirado, who was born in Hamburg, Germany, immigrated with her family to Los Angeles when 17. It was there she met Schirado, native of a section of Hungary now belonging to Yugoslavia. They lived in San Rafael 13 years and were married 46 years.
She was a member of the San Rafael Yacht Club Auxiliary.
She leaves, besides her husband, two sons, Eugene Schirado of San Francisco and Frank Schirado of Mill Valley; a brother, August Cortez of San Francisco, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s in San Rafael. Interment will be private.
