Real Estate Man Answers Summons
George D. Shearer, identified with San Rafael’s business life for nearly forty years, passed away last Friday from a chronic heart trouble which had caused him a few months ago practically to retire from business as a real estate agent, in which he was a pioneer.
Shearer came to San Rafael many years ago and for a long time was a confidential employee of William G. Coleman, famous in the annals of California as the leader of the vigilantes. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia and was 74 years of age. He was probably as well known throughout Marin county as any resident of the district. He is survived by a brother in the East and a sister, who resides in Canada.
The funeral was held under the direction of the Stephen Eden Company.
