Larkspur Pioneer Dies At Home After Long Illness
Jeremiah J. Shine, 83, pioneer resident of Larkspur, died at his home at 66 Heather Way last night after long illness.
Shine was a retired employee of Pacific Gas & Electric Co. He worked for that firm 18 years following his resignation from the Marin Municipal Water District, for which he was a caretaker at Phoenix Lake before completion of Alpine Dam.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emily Shine, Larkspur; a daughter, Mrs. Mabel O’Connell of Larkspur; a son, Thomas Melvin Shine of San Rafael; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Millar; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Keaton’s, San Rafael. Interment will be private.

A Death Notice in the same paper mentions that he was the father of the late Vernon Shine and grandfather of Margaret M. Wilson and Thomas J. Shine; great-grandfather of Eileen Wilson, Erin Wilson and Michael Shine.
