EVELYN BORGES SOUZA
A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn Borges Souza of Petaluma, a longtime Tomales resident, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Assumption in Tomales.
Mrs. Souza, 64, died unexpectedly at her home Monday, July 11, 1988.
She was born in Patterson in Stanislaus County and was reared in Napa County. She also lived in Dixon before moving to the family dairy ranch in the Tomales area in 1950.
Mrs. Souza also worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and salesperson for Praetzel’s Fine Furniture in Petaluma for 11 years and was a secretary for the Shoreline School District for 22 years. She retired in January 1987.
She was a member of the Church of the Assumption of Tomales.
She is survived by a son, Ron Souza of Petaluma; two sisters, Virginia Chambers of Groveland in Tuolumne County and Beverly Borges of Rutherford; a brother, Frank Borges of St. Helena; and a grandson.
Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 tonight at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary in Petaluma. Burial will be at Tomales Catholic Cemetery.
The family prefers that contributions be made to a favorite charity.
