PAUL, Lee Gilmour - 94, passed away reluctantly at his home in Laguna Beach, California on March 24, 2002 following a brief illness. Founding partner of the law firm of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, he was a graduate of the Harvard Law School and of Bowdoin College, which awarded him an honorary doctorate in 1984. He began his distinguished legal career in San Francisco in the 1930's at the law firm of Steinhart, Feigenbaum, before moving to Southern California. A long-time civic leader in Los Angeles and Pasadena, he served on numerous nonprofit and voluntary boards, including the Los Angeles Boys and Girls Club, the Pasadena Humane Society, the Pasadena Public Library, among others. He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Gordon Leupp Paul, who died in 1998. He is survived by three daughters, Mollie Collins of Belvedere; Jenifer Bode and Deborah Barkley, both of Pasadena; and by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at 1:00 pm.
