LEIF W. EVENSEN
Leif W. Evensen of San Rafael, a longtime Novato accountant, died Thursday, June 9, 1988, at his home. He was 59.
Mr. Evensen was a native of San Francisco and a graduate of the Golden Gate University and University of San Francisco. He maintained certified public accounting offices in Novato for more than 30 years.
He also taught income tax preparation at Novato Adult Evening High School and a beginning accounting class at Indian Valley College. During that time, Mr. Evensen tossed out textbooks and prepared exams, saying they lacked relevancy and developed his own teaching materials.
He was past-president of the Novato Rotary Club, past president of the Marin Humane Society and was also past-president and board member for United Cerebral Palsy of the North Bay.
Mr. Evensen was also a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Evensen of San Rafael, and two sisters, Myrtle Serrano of San Mateo and Bernice Neal of Tahoe City.
At his request, no funeral or memorial services will be held.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to a favorite charity.
