HOWARD BYARS

The chapel service for Howard Byars of Tiburon will be held at noon Thursday at Daphne Fernwood Mortuary in Mill Valley.

Mr. Byars died Sunday at Marin General Hospital at the age of 55. Mr. Byars, a native of Tippo, Miss., had lived in Tiburon since 1974.

Previously, he was a resident of Honolulu, Hawaii, and worked as a salesman.

In Marin, he participated in postal service training program in San Rafael. Mr. Byars was active in a deaf club in San Francisco.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Byars of Tiburon; two sons, Howard Byars Jr. and Frank Byars, both of Tiburon; four daughters, Felmina Byars, Edna Byars and Diana Byars, all of Tiburon, and Angela Byars of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

The family prefers contributions to a trust fund for the Howard Byars family at the Bank of America in Tiburon.
