STUDER, Frank Melbourne -- Peacefully passed on Aug. 31, 2001 at the age of 78. A native of Phoenix, AZ, he has resided in San Francisco for over 50 years. Mel was a graduate of UC Berkeley and a U.S. Army veteran of the Battle of the Bulge and WWII. He worked as an architect in SF and was an active member of the Olympic Club and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. He is survived by five children, Sara, Becky, Amy, Rossell (all of Seattle, WA), and Alex Studer (of Mill Valley, CA), and their families. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11am at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 1755 Clay Street, San Francisco, with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Mel's memory to: Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, P.O. Box 19024, Seattle, WA 98109 to support specifically Lymphoma research.
