Muriel Bell Buckley Hayden of San Francisco and Lagunitas died Feb. 27. She was 100.

Mrs. Hayden, a summer resident of Marin since 1905, was born to a third generation California family in 1897. As a young girl, she rode her horse through San Francisco, boarded the ferry to Marin County, then continued her ride by horse back to her summer home in Lagunitas.

She was a former president of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Society of California Pioneers.

Mrs. Hayden is survived by one son, Edward Buckley Hayden of San Rafael; one daughter, Sallie Bell Marden of San Rafael; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. Her husband, Walter Hayden, died in 1984.

Graveside services are pending.
