CHARLES HENDRICKSON
Ex-planning commissioner
Charles Jacob Hendrickson of Larkspur, honored as Construction Person of the Year in 1982 by the Marin Builders’ Exchange, died Feb. 26. He was 85.
Mr. Hendrickson was born in Baltimore in 1912.
He owned and operated North Bay Electric Works from 1975 to 1984. He was also owner of Hendrickson Development, Inc.
Mr. Hendrickson served on the San Rafael Planning Commission from 1956 to 1964.
Sailing was his lifelong passion. He loved racing and was a former member of the San Francisco and San Rafael Yacht Clubs.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie DeMaestri of Fairfax; four grandchildren, Carla DeMaestri of Cotati, Teresa DeMaestri of Cotati, Arianna Hendrickson of San Francisco and Charles Hendrickson of American Canyon; and one great-grandchild, Cali Purdy-DeMaestri of Cotati. His wife, Agnes Hendrickson, died earlier.
A celebration of his life is set for 7 p.m. tomorrow at Chapel of the Hills, 330 Redhill Ave., San Anselmo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to a favorite charity.
