NELLIE ‘SID’ FURAY
Private services were held Wednesday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael for Nellie “Sid” Furay of San Rafael.
Mrs. Furay died Sunday, Feb. 28, 1988, at the Fifth Avenue Convalescent Hospital in San Rafael. She was 88.
Her husband, Frank F. Furay, died previously.
She is survived by a daughter, Diana Brown; a sister, Mary Ellis; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was a native of Indiana.
Mrs. Furay served as president of the San Francisco Second District PTA and started the first PTA in Chinatown.
Burial was at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be sent to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco.
