Ellen "Nellie" Taylor
Nellie Taylor, 97, a resident of The Redwoods in Mill Valley, died Friday, February 15, 2002 at Marin General Hospital.
Born December 28, 1904, to Maria and James Moore, of Tehama County, California, she lived most of her life in the town of Red Bluff. After graduating from the University of California in 1926, she was a teacher in a one-room country schoolhouse; and in 1931, married Cyrillus Taylor, also of Red Bluff. They moved to Mill Valley in 1942 where she lived until the death of her husband, when she returned to Red Bluff. She came to The Redwoods in 1997.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by a daughter, Jean Canepa of Mill Valley, three grandchildren, Cristine, Douglas, and David Canepa, all of Mill Valley and five great-grandchildren, Eugene, Wesley, and Patrick Canepa, and Nicole and Ryan Canepa. She was preceded in death by her son, Donald.
At her request, there will be no service.
