ADA E. KIRST

A memorial sunset service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at Community Congregational Church in Tiburon for Ada Elizabeth Kirst, longtime resident of Kentfield.

Mrs. Kirst died Sunday, June 21, 1987, at her home after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Amarillo, Texas, and later lived in San Francisco before moving to Kentfield 30 years ago. Her hobbies included photography and skiing. She also enjoyed conversing in French with a group called Alliance Francais.

According to a daughter, Kerri A. Kirst of Kentfield, Mrs. Kirst was a “true Southern belle, a high-energy, vivacious, loving person who was always there for everyone. She was generous, down-to-earth and endearing. She also was very beautiful – trim, with blond hair and blue eyes. And she was strong.”

In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Kirst is survived by her husband, Herbert W. Kirst of Kentfield; a son, Kevin A. Kirst of Mill Valley; four sisters, Lee Dodson of Amarillo; Norma Webb of Ocean Springs, Miss.; Lilian Tetterington of Whittier, Los Angeles County; JoJean Nikirk of Amarillo; and two brothers, Roy Davis of Amarillo and C. A. Davis of Massachussetts.

Burial will be private at Olivet Memorial Park.

The family asks that donations be sent to Hospice of Marin or The American Cancer Society.
