She was a native Californian, born in San Diego. She lived in Northern California for 35 years, moving to Novato six years ago.

Mrs. Buckelew was a homemaker. She was president of residents’ council at Novato Convalescent Hospital and contributed to the facility’s newsletter. She also helped organize entertainment and activities for residents during her six years in the convalescent hospital.
“She organized this teddy bear party, where everybody contributed teddy bears to all the residents,” recalled her daughter, Joanna Osborn.

Her husband, Herbert Buckelew, died in 1969.

She is survived by three daughters, Alana Conley of Petaluma, Joanna Osborn of Honolulu, and Marianne Osborne of San Diego; a brother, Robert Travis of Fairfield; and four grandchildren.

Private services have been held.
