CLIFFORD YOUNG

Clifford “Bill” Young, a San Rafael resident for 14 years and a former savings and loan officer, died Monday at Marin General Hospital after a long illness.

He was 72.

He was born in Nebraska, moving to San Francisco in 1937.

Mr. Young moved to Strawberry in 1950 and then to San Rafael 14 years ago.

He was a loan officer for 20 years with Fidelity Savings and Loan in San Rafael before retiring four years ago. The business is now known as Citicorp Savings.

He was a member of the Rotary Club.

During World War II, Mr. Young served in the Army and took part in the Normandy landing.

Survivors are a daughter, Betty Young of San Rafael; a son, Robert Young of San Francisco; and two grandchildren.

At his request, there will be no funeral.
