Joseph Sousa Succumbs
Joseph G. Sousa of 256 Union Street, San Rafael, a native of Marin County, died at a local hospital yesterday after a long illness. He was 66.
Sousa was born in Ross. He worked as a maintenance man until his retirement four years ago. His last employer was the Pacific Gas and Electric Co. in San Rafael.
Sousa, an Army veteran of World War II, was a member of the American legion Post of Yountville, Napa County, where he lived for a short period.
He is survived by a son, Joseph J. Sousa of San Rafael; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Kennedy of San Rafael and Mrs. Dorothy Simon of Fairfax; three brothers, William and Francis Sousa, both of San Anselmo, and George Sousa of Napa. He also leaves two grandchildren.
Funeral cortege will leave Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael at 9:10 a.m. Monday and go to St. Anselm’s Church in San Anselmo where a Requiem Mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Rosary will be recited at the mortuary at 8 p.m. tomorrow.
Burial will be in Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno.
