FRANK G. OLIVEIRA
Marine surveyor

Frank G. Oliveira, a lifelong Southern Marin resident and a noted marine surveyor, died Tuesday, May 8, 1990, at Hillhaven Convalescent Hospital in Mill Valley after a long illness. He was 77.

Mr. Oliveira was born and grew up in Sausalito, attending local schools. He lived all his life in Sausalito and Mill Valley.

From 1938 until 1976 he worked as a boat builder for Madden & Lewis, later called Sausalito Marine, in Sausalito. He also worked until 1985 as a marine surveyor, inspecting and appraising boats up and down the state. He was considered one of the top marine surveyors in the state.

Mr. Oliveira was a member of the National Association of Marine Surveyors and the Sausalito Cruising Club.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Oliveira of Mill Valley; his son, Ronald Oliveira of San Rafael; two daughters, Yvonne Irving of Willits and Shirley Sherwood of Los Gatos; his brother, John Oliveira of San Rafael; his sister, Helen Pierce of Sausalito; and seven grandchildren.

At Mr. Oliveira’s request, there will be no service. His ashes will be scattered at sea.
