ROBERT E. WEBBER DIES AT 65
Robert E. Webber, 65, retired Novato motel owner, died yesterday in a local hospital, apparently of a heart attack.
Masonic funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow at Redwood Chapel Funeral Home in Novato. Inurnment will be at Marin Memorial Gardens.
Webber moved to Novato in 1949 when he purchased El Novato Motel, which he operated until his retirement two years ago. Earlier he had worked for Sherman Clay and Co. in Sacramento. He was a native of Maine, moving to California when 22 years old.
He was a member of Franklin Lodge 143, Free and Accepted Masons, of Courtland, Sacramento County, and of Redwood Empire Council 46, Royal and Select Masons. He was a member of the Novato Lions Club, Novato Chamber of Commerce, and Novato Grove 113, United Ancient Order of Druids.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Webber, at the family home at 1124 Seventh Street, Novato; a brother, John H. Webber of Clarksburg, Yolo County, and a sister, Mrs. Laura Gilbert of Santa Ana.
The family prefers that tributes be contributions to the Heart Assn.
