MARIO G. TAPIA
Retired welder
Mario G. Tapia, a longtime San Rafael resident, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1990, at Kaiser Hospital in San Rafael. He was 59.
He was born in San Diego and lived in Marin County more than 30 yeas. He was a welder, working at the shipyards in San Francisco and Oakland.
He is survived by his wife, Florinda Tapia of San Rafael; a stepdaughter, Olga Bonilla of San Rafael; four brothers, Benifacio Tapia of El Centro, Federico Tapia of San Rafael, Jesus Tapia of San Diego and Everando Tapia of Los Angeles; and two sisters, Margarita Fonseca of Calexico and Angela Harrison of Los Angeles.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday at the Mission San Rafael. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Keaton’s Mortuary in San Rafael. Burial will be at Mount Tamalpais Cemetery in San Rafael.
The family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
