HERBERT WYATT
Herbert Daniel Wyatt, 83, died of cancer New Year’s Eve in a Seattle hospital. He was the father of Fred Wyatt, Independent-Journal reporter.
The elder Wyatt was born in Ontario, Canada, Nov. 3, 1878, and spent most of his life in Seattle. He became a United States citizen about 1900.
He was a water boy for one of the crews stringing the first telephone lines in Alaska. Later he worked as an electrician and a lighting fixture manufacturer, retiring only last year from operation of his own lamp shop in Seattle.
Active in Masonic organizations, he was a 50-year member of St. John’s Blue Lodge No. 9 of Seattle, and a member of Knights Templar and of Nile Temple of the Shrine in Seattle.
His son, who resides in San Francisco, is his only immediate survivor.

Memorial services for Hurbert (sic) Daniel Wyatt, 83,…..will be held tomorrow at St. George’s Episcopal Church in Seattle…. Cremation will be at Bleitz Funeral Home, and inurment at Washelli Cemetery in Seattle.
