KENNETH R. BOYD
Former San Anselmo resident
Former San Anselmo resident Kenneth Raymond Boyd of Livermore died Feb. 25 after a long illness. He was 84.
Mr. Boyd, a third generation San Franciscan, graduated from Galileo High School in San Francisco in 1931.
Mr. Boyd began his career in water utilities as a ditch digger with Crystal Springs Water Company. During World War II, he became an employee of the San Francisco Water District and relocated to the powerhouse camp at Hetch-Hetchy. In 1941 he returned to the Bay Area and worked for the SFWD until his retirement in 1978.
He was former president of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local #3? And was involved with the American Waterworks Association.
Mr. Boyd enjoyed reading history. He was also known for his story telling and was an effective speaker.
He is survived by his wife, Constance Marie Tourny Boyd of Livermore; one son, Norman Francis Boyd of Novato; two daughters, Roberta Ruth Boyd of Livermore and Lauren Mary Boyd Beebe of Novato; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At Mr. Boyd’s request, there will be no services.
