WINFIELD A. WAGNER
Former San Quentin officer
Winfield A. Wagner of San Anselmo died Saturday, Aug. 11, 1990, at Kaiser Hospital in Terra Linda following a heart attack. He was 80.
Mr. Wagner was a native of Comanche, Texas.
He had lived in San Anselmo for 47 years.
Mr. Wagner served in the Army for 10 years, including service overseas in World War II and in Korea.
He worked for 27 years as a correctional officer at San Quentin State Prison, retiring in 1972.
Mr. Wagner was a member of the San Quentin Retirees Alumni, Marin Peace Officers Association and Log Cabin Post 179 of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Helen O. Wagner of San Anselmo; two daughters, Ruby Goins of Kingsland, Texas, and Helen O. Gibbs of San Anselmo; a son, Harry E. Galvin of Rohnert Park; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Wagner home.
Inurnment will be private.
The family prefers memorial gifts to St. Anthony’s Dining Room, 121 Golden Gate Ave., San Francisco, 94102.
