Killed Near Black Point
The body of Charles Schwielly, a German, 63 years of age, was found Saturday evening north of Grand View close to the Petaluma drawbridge at Black Point. Angelo Patto found the man in the marsh close to the railroad track. Schwielly was taken into Grand View on a stretcher, to be conveyed to a hospital, but passed away during the night. It is believed that while walking along the track the deceased was caught by a northbound Napa train and knocked off and thrown into the marshes. The base of his skull was badly fractured. The deceased was employed by Peter Walsh, a Grand View boat owner.
