LOUIS WOELFL
Louis Woelfl, retired railroad gardener who lived in Marin City since 1913, died today at a San Francisco hospital, after a brief illness.
Woelfl, 86, had been a gardener with Northwestern Pacific Railroad until the firm eliminated its gardens. He then became a carpenter for the railroad until his retirement in 1947. He worked privately as a gardener until 1951.
A native of Germany, he came to California in 1910 and lived in Oakland for three years before moving to Marin. He lived at 233 C Street with his wife of 58 years, Rosa Woelfl.
He was a member of Marin Lodge 200 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Grand Lodge of Forresters of America and Golden Star Rebekah Lodge 112, San Rafael.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Marie Woelfl of San Rafael and Mrs. Margaret Selvy of Modesto; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael.

A Death Notice in the same paper says he was the grandfather of Mrs. Vickie Gray and Hugh Selvy of Modesto, and great-grandfather of Le Ann Gray of Modesto.
